First of all, I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend. I enjoyed mine on the sunny and warm East Coast of Florida and basked in the sunshine as the Browns were handed their 8th defeat of the season. I Tivo'ed it of course, but was fed updates from friends, family and the radio as me and my family got caught in some of the worst traffic I had ever driven in. (Our typical 8-9 hour drive from Florida to Atlanta turned into a 12 hour nightmare!) Thankfully, we made it home safely and in time for me to watch the highlights of the game.
I won't post much today, as I have not watched the entire game as of this morning, but from what I see the Browns played a hell of a defensive game all for naught. (Isn't it strange how the Browns always seem to play Indianapolis tough regardless of records?) Now after DA has gone down with what looks like a MCL sprain, Ken Dorsey will close out the year for us with Josh Cribbs lined up as the #2 guy. I'd say let Cribbs take the #1 spot, but he IS the team and we need him on special teams and as a play maker on offense. Plus, why would we open ourselves to that QB controversy? I can see it next year, Quinn or Cribbs?
As my High School Football Coach always said, “You play for the name on the front of the jersey, not the back!” - I guess we could apply this to fans stated as, “You root for the name on the front of the jersey, not the back!” As such, I don't care who is quarterbacking at this point as long as the Browns play competitive football and matter in the NFL. I'd root for John Elway if he had a Browns jersey on. Go Browns…
